Hi, I just wondered what you think of these words to put in a card from my daughter to her teacher.
She is moving up a class next term and will be leaving her first nursery class. The teacher is absoluitly fantastic and my daughter really loves her so it will be very . I have made a card with a photo of my daughter cuddeling her teacher, decorated with flowers. What do you think of these words for inside?

Dear Mrs ...
Thank you so much for giving me such a wonderful start to my school life. You've held my hand, dried my tears and made my very first memories of school ones of happiness and laughter.
I am really going to miss you but will always remember the fun we've had in little ladies.
I am very privileged to have had you as my teacher and I hope I'll go on to make you proud.
With lots of love and thanks from .....

Please be honest if you don't like it or would change it a bit. Also feel free to correct spellings. Thanks.

Turnip!! I knew you meant you had just heard it! Eire YUCK! The Eire thing is funny because people don't put Sverige or Espana on the envelope instead of Sweden or Spain!

Bit of a thread hi-jack!

mummyloveslucy, I think you are the nicest person I've ever met on MN! You put the rest of us miserable cynics to shame

Now tell us - when was the last time you had a really good bitch about someone?

2point4kids · 09/07/2008 09:02

I think you should send whatever you would like to recive!
You sound lovely and so does your daughter. Anything from the heart will go down well with her teacher

MaryAnnSingleton · 09/07/2008 10:08

yes, agree there - mummyloverslucy took all the comments with very good grace - an example to us all

Boco · 09/07/2008 11:53

She's unbelievably cute, I'm almost tempted to write a rhyming verse about her.

FrannyandZooey · 09/07/2008 12:14

Now Boco did a prize for musical appreciation and manners not raise a tiny weeny smile?

Boco · 09/07/2008 12:18

It all raised a smile - it's all just, adorable and bizarre. I think I love her.

Think the OP is a proper grown up laydee.

MaryAnnSingleton · 09/07/2008 13:15

she's a little lady

LynetteScavo · 09/07/2008 14:19

Oooh! I want my DD to go to "little ladies" with only 6 in the class!

I bet they use napkins at lunchtime.

I don't think little ladies could cope with my DD though!

LynetteScavo · 09/07/2008 14:23

I need a link, mummyloveslucy, or my DD will end up here instead.

little ladies

mummyloveslucy · 09/07/2008 18:25

Thanks every one. I've given my card in today and the teacher loved it. I bought a willow tree angel too which is called thank you.
Her teacher loved it and said it made her cry. I can't believe she has to move up already but her new teacher is lovely too. They all are actually.
I'll try to do a link.

And yes they use napkins. (dosn't everyone?)
Believe me they could cope with your DD.

willow tree angel

mrsbabookaloo · 09/07/2008 22:49

Gosh, mummyloveslucy, you were very, very gracious in the face of a lot of criticism. And if this was also your school, it must turn out some lovely people!

You really seem to be from a different world from the rest of us, but good for you!

lisalisa · 09/07/2008 23:06

What anabsolutely gorgeous school - good luck to you and yhour dd there

charliegal · 10/07/2008 09:29

LynetteScavo (Queen of links)- that Little Ladies with the Erratic capitalisation was a truly scary thing.
You are right, stick with the Devon Little Ladies, they are wholesome, apple-cheeked and have delightful alumni!

mummyloveslucy · 10/07/2008 09:37

Thanks everyone, it really is a lovely school. You have to go there to really appreciate how wonderful it is. We have visited a few private schools but stoodley is just in a league of it's own.
Lucy loves it there.
