Hi, I just wondered what you think of these words to put in a card from my daughter to her teacher.
She is moving up a class next term and will be leaving her first nursery class. The teacher is absoluitly fantastic and my daughter really loves her so it will be very . I have made a card with a photo of my daughter cuddeling her teacher, decorated with flowers. What do you think of these words for inside?

Dear Mrs ...
Thank you so much for giving me such a wonderful start to my school life. You've held my hand, dried my tears and made my very first memories of school ones of happiness and laughter.
I am really going to miss you but will always remember the fun we've had in little ladies.
I am very privileged to have had you as my teacher and I hope I'll go on to make you proud.
With lots of love and thanks from .....

Please be honest if you don't like it or would change it a bit. Also feel free to correct spellings. Thanks.

Ds2's class is Hamsters

Thank the Lord they are voting for a change next year.

unfitmother · 08/07/2008 18:42

This must be a joke

FrannyandZooey · 08/07/2008 18:43

I think the next class up may be 'Big Broads'?

mummyloveslucy · 08/07/2008 18:43

No, it's the propper name of the class. Like I said. There are Little Ladies, Nursery and Transition.

ds's school in London used to be colours in infants then mythical creatures in juniors

MaryAnnSingleton · 08/07/2008 18:44

but why little ladies ? it's just weird ! maybe the head had a fixation with Rock Follies (v old tv series for the late forties among us)

TheFallenMadonna · 08/07/2008 18:44

Is the school big on deportment MLL? Do they walk around with books on their heads?

FrannyandZooey · 08/07/2008 18:44

on a more serious note MLL, if that is what you would like to write to the teacher then why not go ahead
it may not be to everyone's taste but if it is what you genuinely want to tell her then I am sure it will be meaningful to her

if all else fails it may give her a laugh
SORRY JUST KIDDING

MaryAnnSingleton · 08/07/2008 18:45

how about nymphets ?

mummyloveslucy · 08/07/2008 18:46

It REALY, REALY is NOT a joke!!!

ok, sorry !

unfitmother · 08/07/2008 18:47

If this is a genuine question, why not a card just from your DD and a letter from you?

TheFallenMadonna · 08/07/2008 18:47

No, but it is funny though

What you've written is obviously heartfelt and I'm sure the teacher will love it

LIZS · 08/07/2008 18:47

Valkyries, Sirens ... sorry I did Kindergarten and Transition many moons ago.

MaryAnnSingleton · 08/07/2008 18:48

lolita class - oh sorry, am getting carried away...

Twiglett · 08/07/2008 18:49

PLEASE tell me you're not going to write it from the point of view of a 2 year old though

I mean it's bad enough you find calling their class 'Liddle Ladeeeeeees' cute (feminism passed the school by I assume) ... you are joking aren't you? aren't you?

where's your Stiff Upper Lip? Call yourself a Laydeeeeeeee do you?

mummyloveslucy · 08/07/2008 18:50

ThefallenMadonna- Well it is private in case you haven't guessed. I'm not sure about books on there heads though. ( although my Grandmother used to get me to do that).

Private? - we'd never have guessed

TheFallenMadonna · 08/07/2008 18:52

When I wrote a thank you card to DD's departing pre-school teacher I asked her how she felt about her leaving, and wrote int eh card "DD says she is sad you're not going to live at pre-school any more, and I agree with her". I don't think that's yucky.

mummyloveslucy · 08/07/2008 18:54

She is 3 not 2 and if she could talk then I'm sure she would want to say some kind words to her favorite teacher.

That would be lovely but she has a speech disorder so communication is very hard for her. I might re wright it though as comming from us but I don't think it would be so personal really.
What would you change to make it less gushy?
