Help! My lovely, happy, chubby baby has been kidnapped by aliens and replaced with a constant cryer. She crys when I don't feed her quick enough, she crys when I put her down, she wails when I dare to go out of sight, she screams if there's a loud noise. Is this teething? Separation anxiety? She has no teeth yet but is dribbling and eating everything in sight. She's waking at night (from being a 12 hour sleeper), nothing seems to work. Any advice? I'm worried I've done something to make her like this and it's awful to watch her face go all red and blotchy because she's so upset. It seems really extreme to me, but maybe that's what teething's like. Help anyone?

its probably a combination of both seperation anxiety and teeth on the move. lots of cuddles and reasurances when you can.

My 9 month old son is currently doing just the same, and my first son was the same too. They do get seperation axiety at this age and mine is definitly teething, taking ages to come through, off his food, but will happily have yoghurt and milk still, he has started waking at 4 after on and off 12 hour sleeps. you have done nothing to ake your baby be like this, its just a stage they go through, It won't last forever, but will probably stop and start as more teeth come through.
I would try and not get into the habit of feeding your baby when she wakes in the night, she obviously doesn't need it if she's been sleeping through previously. I'd give some herbal teething powder (teetha or ashton and parsons) and maybe rub some bonjela on, that always calms my little one down and he drifts back to sleep on his own eventually.
good luck
