My 11 week old son is sleeping well at night and was until a week ago able to have a good nap in the morning, I have avoided putting him in his moses basket in the day for fear of him not going back in it at night. He keeps nodding off and within 10/15 mins he wakes himself up frightend and crying, someone has said it sounds like the startle refelx and to swaddle but he doesn't like swaddling anyone any suggestions ??

Where does he sleep during the day then? Sorry just abit confused, it sounds like he likes to sleep in his moses basket so why don't you want him to sleep there in the day? (honest question, not a judgement).

Swaddling is a good idea at this age and it worked abit for us, DD did not like it at first but got used to it. They can also wake like this after a short while if they are overtired, do you think that is possible for your DS?

We did use to sleep him in his moses basket duing the day and then when we tried to put him back in it at night he wouldn't settle, so stopped doing this during the day and settled at night, once he was sleeping for longer at night I couldn't then get him to go to sleep in his moses basket during the day, we have a motion swing which he loves with a mobile on it and he likes to watch this and then falls asleep he then falls asleep in his rocker and if we have been out can fall asleep in his car seat.
I have also placed him in his cot again has a mobile on it and seems to enjoy watching this and falling asleep.
The only time I have noticed he doesn't keep waking is when he falls aslepp on my lap feeding.
