feel like the worst mum in the world

The last few nights my DS (2.3) has been waking up. This morning he woke before 5 when I had less than 4 hours sleep and he wouldn't go back even when we brought him into our bed. Well I am normally quite patient with my son and whilst I am not a perfect mother I do have a great bond/relationship with him and he is generally so well behaved. However this morning I lost my patience with him and was a bit rough with him. There is absolutely no excuse for this and I said sorry and gave him a big hug (I had been changing his nappy on the living room floor grabbed him by both arms and pretty much shoved/threw him on the sofa). He was so upset and I feel so so terrible. I know it is just sleep deprivation on top of a busy period for us but I hate myself for doing it. just needed to off load some guilt i suppose

((((((hugs))))))

firstly, we've all been there to the edge and back, you are perfectly normal, and defiantly not the worse mum.

secondly, make sure DS is safe and occupied, and make yourself a cup of tea. sit down and have 5 minutes to yourself if you can. he won't remember in a day or so.

for him it was probably the shock as much as you. you have my sympathy thou as sleep deprivation is never a good thing (we've been having it here as well).

can a family member possibly look after him one night this week over night so you can have a full undisturbed sleep? - it's amazing how a little extra makes you feel human again.
