Frightens himself in his sleep is this possible

My son is 11 weeks old and only during the day as night sleep is really good he can be asleep he throws his hands in the air and what seems to frighten himself to death and then starts screaming, anyone have anything similar.

it's the startle reflex - very normal - you know how you are sometimes falling asleep and then you wake with a start? it's a similar thing

Have you tried swaddling? could be the answer

He doens't like his arms under the covers so has never really liked swaddling, I have already read about the startle reflex but the frequency of it was what was of a concern as it seems to be all the time he goes to sleep
