Hi, I have a 4 year old son and over the last few months he has been laughing in his sleep a few times a week, while everyone is telling me it’s nothing to worry about about, I am worried. I hate always thinking the worst outcome of things, I wish I could stop 😭😭

Are your children’s vaccines up to date?

Why would it worry you? Your dc is having a lovely dream.

This can be normal as your child could be dreaming so it is not much to worry about. You can relax but still if it bothers you so much then you could visit a doctor once to confirm.

Why on earth are you worried??? It’s just a dream!

MadMumOfTwoHorrors · 05/10/2026 13:16

I laugh in my sleep sometimes. It's completely normal. Sometimes it wakes me up and I still keep laughing even though I don't know why. I have to stifle it so I don't wake my husband up!

That is so cute! I wouldn’t worry. It’s just a lovely dream.

Absolutely nothing to worry about in REM sleep we process our days/lives emotions and feelings..this is a nice thing. Try some breathwork and hypnotherapy for your anxiety. Loads free on Spotify and YouTube

@vixen996it can be a sign of seizures, I know it sounds silly but I suffer with crippling parental anxiety

I don’t understand why that would worry you?! Any time I have heard my DS laughing in his sleep it makes me happy that he must be happy and having a nice dream…it’s never even occurred to me that it could be something negative.
