10 month old biting at latch during breastfeeding, any advice?

hi all,

my 10 month old has started biting down when she initially latches to feed. She doesn’t do it after the inital latch, it’s just as she goes on and it’s sooo painful. It’s making me so scared every time I feed her too but I can’t not feed her as she’s EBF. I don’t want to stop BF but how can I stop her doing this? She has her 4 front teeth and it’s awful! The advice I’ve read of take her off so she knows it’s not ok won’t really work I don’t think as otherwise she’ll get no milk as it’s the beginning of the feed?

I had similar at around 7 months and was advised by a BFC to try feeding lying down as it makes it harder to bite.

Thanks will try this. I’ve not fed her lying down for months!

If she still does it then I’d give one of the BFing helplines a call. They’re usually good with this kind of thing
