When did your late walkers walk?

I have an almost 17 month old and she isn't walking yet.
She is slow with her development with her learning to crawl just a few months ago and has recently started to pull herself up onto furniture.
I am not so concerned, but should I be? How long do you think she will start walking based on what I've described? Just looking for parents out there who have experienced something similar and give me a peace of mind.

I think that the NHS advice is to send the GP if they’re not walking by 18 months so that any physical cause can be ruled out?

15.5 months but had been pulling to stand from 8.5 months and cruising not long after.

Personally I'd seek a professional opinion if only just pulling to stand recently.

It might be worth doing that before you speak to your GP so that they can see how your LO scores.

Its perfectly normal for them to score in the grey in one or two areas but if they’re scoring in the grey in more than that or if they’re scoring in the black in any area then the GP should refer to a Paediatrician so that they can investigate

She is scoring black on the gross motor skills but fine on all the other areas

if she’s in the black, I think I would go back to the GP and ask for a referral to a Paediatrician. Have you a DH/DP and could they go to the GP with you? I find that the GP always takes things more seriously if a man bothers to turn up.

She has a healthy visitor coming over tomorrow to review her so I can mention it to her?

I would although you might need to be quite insistent. The Ages & Stages is clear though, if they’re in the black they should be referred. The HV can’t really argue with that. If she does want to adopt the “wait and see” approach try and pin her down to making an appointment for a month’s time so that your LO doesn’t get forgotten by her.

I would chat with HV about referral to physio.

I have 15m old. Doesn't crawl, pull to stand or walk. Shes a bottom shuffler. We got referred to physio and they've given exercises to help strengthen her core and leg muscles. But overall, physio is not worried as they assessed her/watched her move and said she's physically fine, just a bit lazy lol. The physios generally don't like "milestones" as they can set unrealistic expectations on parents. Often babies just get up and walk within a couple months of the intervention, just when they're ready.

She's great at fine motor skills and social/speech though so clearly that's where shes focused her energy
