not on the collar bone but on dd2s chest, in her case its an extra bone, but we already knew what it was as its hereditary and comes from my dads side!

it did seem to change as she was putting on weight and growing etc. you can still it now its looks bigger!

Is it on the bone itself or just near it?
Hemangiomas are a type of benign lump that will appear shortly after birth and grow for a while. When they are on the surface they appear as strawberry birthmarks, but if they are deeper down it can just seem like a fleshy lump.
Obviously the pead will be able to tell you for sure what it is, but it may well be something that is no cause for concern.

thanks pixie that sounds exactly like what it is..she is worried because it is growing and changing colour..baby is about 2 weeks old.

My cousin had this on her top rib below her collar bone. It was as pixie suggested, hemangioma. It just looked like a fatty lump but it seemed to grow and change shape as she grew and changed shape! It was fully gone by 3 months and she is 19 now and is fine!

Also, it was reddy coloured and changed colour but faded and disappeared, no scar, nothing. Sure it's nothing to worry overly about but good to get it checked anyway!
