My son is 14 and suffering from ocd. Over laces /clothes. He had an episode last year but it passed after about two months. However being in irish college for a few weeks started it again. He was in the West of Ireland learning irish.
He got anxiety there again
He was only there 2 weeks. He came home and stabilised after a visit to A and E psychiatrist.
His councellor said he was OK to go to France a week later. He felt OK.
But out here it got worse. He has a friend with him.
So he is demanding to go home. It's miserable for us with him like this.
He has a referral into local psychologist in Ireland where we live but could take a awhile.
I'm a recovering alcoholic so that is probably a factor in his anxiety.
It was bad last summer when he was moving schools but he settled in school

Hi OP, My DS, a few years older than yours, has OCD too.

Sorry you haven’t had many replies. Your title, Ne, is confusing I think.

Your DS is probably finding the different environment challenging. When do you go home?

Did the psychiatrist prescribe any medication? We found sertraline helped. Hope the psychologist helps too and you’re not waiting too long. If it’s CAMHS you’re seeing they can be hit and miss ime. It depends on staffing in the local area (I’m in Ireland too).
