Baby flat spot on head

Hi, I’m a first time mum and my baby will be 3 months old on the 11th July. I’ve recently noticed that she has a slight flat spot on the back of her head but at the side if that makes sense😫
when I lay her flat on her back she won’t look to the left (so her right) I’ve tried getting her to track toys and she gets her head to the middle before turning back to her preferred side.
I’ve also noticed she has a slight head tilt when she does tummy time on me and I’m freaking out.
I am going to contact my gp but I was just wondering if anyone has experienced this before with their little ones and can offer me some advice to calm me down as it’s all I can think about and it’s worrying me.

Not had flat spots but then the little buggers would only really nap in my arms at this age.

I think you’re right to query the head tilt and flat spots but I wouldn’t be too worried at this time. I’ve never used one but do you think a paediatric oestopath could help with her neck?

Thank you for your reply:) & yeah all she does is nap in my arms so I’m really confused how she has her flat spot to be honest, I do obviously put her down on her play mat in the day and do sensory play with her but soon as she gets mardy I pick her up& then she obviously sleeps on her back in her cot at night but I wouldn’t of thought she would of got a flat spot to easy I think it might be because she prefers the one side.
and yes I do think an osteopath will be beneficial I’ve got to contact my midwife team so they can send out a referral for me so hopefully that helps her but because waiting lists can take a few weeks I wanted help with what I can do at home to help her before we see a professional.

You need a PT for the Torticollis and a perfect noggin to fix the flat spot (or it'll be a helmet further down the line, depending on the severity).

I’ve seen your post and I’ve had the same experience with my daughter - she had flat spot on one side of back of her head. She is 16 months old now and you can’t really see it. I can see when she has wet her as I know where exactly flat spot was, but strangers would probably not even see it.
I have loads of pictures from before as I was thinking to get helmet, but at the end we’ve decided to not do it as I wanted her to learn how to protect her head rather than wearing a helmet which would protect all the time plus she really doesn’t like even wearing hats so it could be a not pleasant experiance for her.

Yes please that would be fab! i have just recently purchased a perfect noggin for her so hopefully that helps her while we wait for a physio appointment but I would love to see your results:)

That brilliant!😍 how did you get it to go back round again? My daughter isn’t a fan of tummy time on the floor so she does all her tummy time on me or her dad and she’s really good at it but I felt like that alone wouldn’t of helped with her head, but your daughters head has improved perfectly:)

We’ve had exactly the same problem with tummy time - she hated so badly at the beginning;) I’ve got bigger pillow so will be not as hard for her to push herself and gradually I’ve moved her to smaller and then finally she was able to be on her tummy without anything under ;) plus on time she became stronger so was easier for her to do tummy time :)

Yeah I have a tummy time roll thing (im not sure what it’s called) but it’s pretty big and I put her on that and she just seems to rest her chin on it more than anything but when she is on my chest she is so strong and she will keep her head up for a good 5-10 minutes at a time most times:)
