Reduced babbling

Hello,

My son just turned 9 months a few days ago. He was babbling a lotttt before different sounds like baba dada gaga etc and just so vocal. But for the last week he’s been very quiet, and just saying ga and go. And it’s not even repetitive like gagaga how it was before. The only thing I can think of is that he’s got his first set of teeth coming through (two bottom). They’re visible but not fully out the gum yet, can jsut mainly feel their sharpness.

Has anyone else’s baby drastically reduced babbling whilst teething? He’s already been crawling and cruising for ages, so nothing new there. He’s just been smacking his lips the past week rather than making sounds

Sounds perfectly normal if he’s teething Smile

Thanks for the reply, how long would you say it’s normal for

Once the teething pain is under control it should come back. What are you using for pain relief now?

noting atm, he never really cries from pain. Should it be given regardless ?

I woukd try him with a dose of calpol and see if it improves his general demeanour. He might start to babble again if he’s feeling good Smile
