i know i shouldn't complain but...

...i'm just wanting to know if this is normal - my 8 month old has generally slept well through the night since 4 months (with the odd waking up sessions) but only had 2 hours max naps in the day (2 separate ones).

he generally slept from 6.30pm-6.00am.

now he's going down at the same time but sleeping til 7am; then doesn't cry, just is happy to sit & play with a few cuddly toys in his cot.

then after 2 hours he goes down now for up to 2 hours. then his lunch-time nap will be one hour.

is this too much sleep for someone who used to have at least 2 hours less?

he's started to move (crawling backwards!) so i'm thinking maybe it's because he's exerting himself more & learning so much more now?

or shoudl i be concerned. i really don't want to annoy/offend those parents with babies with sleep problems; i know i shouldn't complain but just a little worried.

thanks

Don't worry, just enjoy!
He is probaly more tired due to extra exertion and may be having a growth spurt.

i wouldnt worry

every baby is different

dont compare, judge your baby for him/herself

if he;s started crawling then he's probably a lot more knackered. Also growth spurts can leave them more tired than usual.

If he's such a good sleeper then let him sleep as he likes during the day - only reassess if it is affecting his nighttime sleeping.

My DD had exactly the same sleeping pattern at 8mo as yours does now. Crawling around and discovering everything is very tiring!

Relax and enjoy, it gives you plenty of MN time! The naps won't last forever... My DD is 11 mo and is starting to drop her naps, I'm not getting anything done!
