9 month old weird movement

Does anyone else’s baby do this weird head movement. Best I can describe it is it’s like a fast no just once? Like just a fast look down with eyes closed. It almost seems involuntary. Lasts less than a second. It’s not a fast head shake as some babies do. It like he just looks to one side very quickly and then back almost like giving his eyes a quick break or something.

I have shown videos to the health visitor and paediatrician who thought it was fine and not seizure like. Described it as benign “funny turn” and “stereotypie”. However I’ve not seen other babies do this so wanted to ask if anyone’s experienced similar?

not sure if it’s possible to upload videos here

Ah I see. So it’s not a recent development. Can I ask what the reason is that he’s under a Paediatrician?

i made a private appt as I was still worried despite health visitors reassurance.

I’m not surprised you wanted a private appointment to be honest. My HV was remarkably blasé about some concerns we had about our DC2.

Glad that the Paediatrician wasn’t too concerned though.

Next time you see the HV I would mention it again and ask for LO to ne referred for a sight test. Had the HV asked to see you again?

Yeah he’s kept a follow up appt for after 3 months but he said babies can carry on this “funny turns” till 2 years old. And to just watch out for eyes rolling etc. but I’ve just not seen other babies do this which is why I was concerned

Is that the Paediatrician that’s doing a follow up? How about the HV?
