Only two teeth at 15 months, anyone experienced delayed teething?

My son only has two bottom teeth at over 15 months old. He got his first two in mid November and no sign of anymore since.

I took him to the dentist today and they’ve referred us to the hospital for a scan because she said she can’t actually feel any under his gums/ not sign they are coming soon. He has little tooth buds but nothing to indicate they are at the surface..

Im worried about his teeth development and has anyone had similar experiences? It’s been almost 6 months since his two teeth showed..

Mine has 6 teeth at 17 months (3 on top, 3 on bottom) and it didn’t really occur to me to worry… I hope the hospital are able to set your mind at ease! Is he able to eat okay?

@MyNiftyBear he actually eats really well! All solid foods within reason! So it doesn’t impact his eating luckily but just worried there’s a development issue as it’s been almost 6 months with no sign of more teeth :(

Hi OP, commenting to say we are in a similar boat. DD is 13 months and only has two bottom teeth (which she definitely got pregnant Christmas just can't remember exactly when). HV wasn't fussed at 12-month check. Seemed like she's been teething so many times (red cheeks, dribble, sore gums, dodgy nappies) but no sign of any more. Will mention to my dentist at my next check up but I think it can just take a long time and we're probably in for a rough few weeks when several inevitably come at once!
