ds was 2 in april and we want to potty train him this summer. We plan to wait for a week of decent weather and spend lots of time out in the garden while training him. He's really articulate for his age and seems to be aware when he poos and wees so seems ready. trouble is he hates having his nappy off and cries for it to go back on. He won't even sit on the potty or toilet either at the moment.
Am trying to make the idea fun and no pressure but he already seems quite anti.
So suggestions for persuading ds that nappy off is good and potty is good please...

I wouldn't push him at all tbh. What's the hurry?

Sticker charts, small rewards (can even wrap tiny presents and have them in a basket and he can chose one every time he goes dry for 30 mins or does something in loo etc), go out together to buy big boy underpants, start talking about the benefits of being a 'big boy' as opposed to toddler eg, did you know big boys are allowed to ..... fill blank with perhaps something he would love like go and visit fire station???
