I’m needing some help, I’m having really bad troubles with my 3 year old listening/ understanding. He’s very polite and loving! Just will not listen.
im finding it really hard. Does anyone have any tip/tricks. Is it just my child?

Wheb you say that they’re not understanding can you give us a couple of examples? Not understanding is a bit more complicated than just not listening Smile

My 3 year old sounds very similar - he’s very loving and other people have told us how polite he is.
BUT he does not listen to us AT ALL. It is infuriating. However, I know he understands what we are saying, he just won’t listen or do what we’re saying 🙃
If your son isn’t listening and also doesn’t appear to understand what you’re saying then it’s probably something deeper than just being a 3 year old pushing boundaries. Maybe he needs his hearing checked?

I'm in this exact same situation at the moment my 3 year old is pushing boundaries to no end and even to the point of dangerous stuff. I've tried reasoning, explaining talking nicely and even resorted to shouting when it gets too much but nothing seems to make a difference he just carries on like nothing has even been said im at a loss as to what to try next 😪

3 year olds can be terrible for this can’t they?

See if you can get a copy of Little Angels by Prof Tanya Byron. I think it’s out of print now but does have useful tips.

The other thing to check is his speech and understanding.

How does he do on this progress checker?
