4YO obsessed with wearing dresses

My four year old daughter is obsessed with wearing dresses. Have no issue with that per se but it’s becoming a chore to do anything that requires more practical clothing (walking, cycling etc).
She’s at school and started in September and wears school uniform. Three days a dress tights etc and two days PE trousers and tshirt. When she first started it was an absolute pain on PE days to get her in trousers she’d have tantrums and refused to wear them. She’s now gotten used to that but still complains every PE day. Now anything else is hard work. She has rainbows that require a uniform but flat out refuses to wear the trousers and would happily miss out on doing literally anything if it means she can’t wear a dress. It’s becoming so hard work and I’m kinda at a loss as to what to do about it. I ask other girl parents at school and non of them have this issue. Anyone able to offer advice?
Im at a point where i need to remove all of her dresses from her wardrobe and not give her the option of wearing them but i dont want to do that if i can avoid it
thanks in advance!

Why is it such a "chore"? Let her wear dresses, just with tights or leggings as well, to keep her warm. Buy, or get her to wear, thicker dresses in cold weather - ones with long sleeves, or ones with a cardigan as well. It's not difficult.

Have you tried offering shorts as an alternative? Trousers can feel quite restrictive. Try light shorts that are loose. sounds like it may be a sensory need rather than awkwardness

I do generally do that once it’s warm enough and it wasn’t too bad last year. Hoping it’s the same this year when it warms up a little
