Slow hair growth in 3 year old DD

DD1 will be 4 in August she has lovely thick wavy hair, but it is short.
She is desperate to have a ponytail or plaits like her friends at nursery, but her hair just isn't long enough.
Has anyone else experienced this or got any suggestions.
She has a fairly good diet, although she's not keen on meat.

Any advice will be gratefully received.

Thanks

Glad to hear it will grow eventually.

ds is 3.7 and has only ever needed to have his hair cut twice- it's quite fine and just does not seem to grow! When it starts curling above his ears dh has suggested we trim it ( me, I would love it to grow into wild wavy locks!) I just presumed that some children have hair that grows fast and some have slow growing fluff like ds.

Interestingly ds isn't fussed by meat either but eats well otherwise- wonder if there is a link?

Sorry upshot is no specific advice but wanted to let you know you're not alone in this.

My DD was the same until we went to Australia. We spent nearly a year there when DD was 2 and her hair suddenly starting growing like mad! I appreciate this doesn't really help any of you but my theory was that it was the hot weather over there that made it grow! And it hasn't slowed down since and she is nearly 5 now.
