I’ve seen a rapid change in my 7 month old in the last week or so.
he seems super distracted by objects around him, e.g if I hold him he won’t look at my face any more he’ll focus on something on me that he can grab e.g my hair. Same with his siblings, he’ll be quite focused on something on their clothes and trying to touch it rather than on their faces like he used to do
if he’s in his high chair and I’m feeding him he’ll get really distracted by the chair itself or any other object within reach.
my daughter came into the room this morning holding a toothbrush and he was staring at the toothbrush trying to grab it (previously would have been more focused on her than what she was holding)
when he’s playing with something it’s quite hard to distract him from it.
he’s still smiley and does wave and clap and makes eye contact but seems very quickly distracted by the world around him and less engaged with us. Is this normal development?
he had a severe hypoxic event at birth (though no brain damage seen on MRI) so i’m looking for issues more than I otherwise would :(
