An aspiring pop star.......at 2.8???!!

My 2.8 yo dd would rather watch the pop videos on Music on Demand through cable TV rather than CBeebies - particular favourites are Mika, Amy Winehouse , The Killers, Travis, Abba, Manic Street Preachers & Kaiser Chiefs! Just bought her a toy microphone & earlier caught her singing along to Dancing Queen into it!! It's highly amusing , but I can't help thinking it's a little odd that at such a young age she seems to prefer music videos to Aunty Mable & Pippin! Anyone else's dc's like this?

God, I'd rather have music than CBeebies on in the background - and your DD has indeed got good taste!

My DD is 22 mo and can say 'microphone' very clearly and loves 'singin' into it. Her dad does a bit of an eyebrow-raising turn pretending to be Freddie Mercury at family parties occasionally and entered a talent contest at work for a laugh. He was reviewing Queen clips on You Tube as 'homework' a couple of weeks ago. DD loved the 'piano man' and now wants to spend quite a lot of time holding the mike while dancing round the room to Queen with her daddy. Especially 'Don't stop me now'. Super cute. I was a bit cross when he drew a moustache on her, though...
