dd has been a little monkey today (using polite words here!!!) if we ask her to do simple things she ignores us and it happens quite a lot when she is playing up, whats the best way to deal with?

Watches with interest as my 3 year old charge is a daydreamer and doesn't listen looks everywhere but at me and doesn't take anything in

My 3yr old ds does this too. I've started with the 'i'm going to count to 3. If you don't do x, I will put your princesses/barbie dvd in the cupboard'. Said toy remains in the cupboard for 24 hours. Works best with favourite toy so she misses it.

Have also done the you won't watch cbeebies tomorow which also works quite well.

If she is not listening. I go over to her her and get her attention and make sure she is looking at me before i give ultimatum.

Hope that might help.

She's not the perfect child but having some leverage helps.

She also hates being sat on stairs when naughty.

Do I sound as though I enjoy this too much?

I've tried the counting to 3 with my ds, and when I get to 2 I ask him what comes if I reach 3 and usually he replies '4' , even though he knows that 3 means that he loses something like desperatehousewifetoo said.
