Toddler suddenly won't sleep alone in the cot

Hello All, my toddler is 15months old. She has always slept in the cot. However for the past 2 weeks she only sleeps in the cot for about 10mins before waking and crying hysterically. As soon as I pick her up she sleeps on me instantly. I really try with putting her back down but once I've done this 100 times and I get to about 3am I let her sleep next to me. Then she'll happily sleep through for like 7hrs. But we're just sharing a little mattress on the floor. It's not ideal. My partner is in the bed. I don't know why she has suddenly changed to only wanting to sleep with me. She has never had trouble sleeping in the cot. I tried to not pick her up and just talk to her and she cried hysterically for 3hrs and still didn't fall asleep. Is this is a phase? Is there something I can try that isn't just "leave her to cry".

Yea there are definitely things to do that aren’t Cry it Out Smile

First thing I would do is put her cot bedding in your bed for a while to give it the same, reassuring smell.

Is she warm enough and well? You could try a dose of Calpol to see if it’s discomfort causing her to wake?

Is she mastering a new skill, like walking?

And have you read the No Cry Sleep Solution for Toddlers and Preschoolers? Smile

That's great thank you so much, yes she has pretty much stopped crawling altogether this week and is purely focusing on walking.

I'll certainly try that book.

It does sound like it could be the little regression to do with walking. Hopefully it will pass pretty soon Flowers

How were things last night @Pinkster77?

Honestly it's still very much the same. Although she is managing an hour in the cot sometimes which is better than waking every 20mins. But it's still a real struggle and it is taking its toll on me. I keep caving in and just putting her next to me just so I can get some solid sleep in but I'm sure that's making things worse. I'm just at a loss and I'm so exhausted.
