Hey ladies!
First off- I know it’s totally normal, I just need some support!
My 8 month old daughter is putting things in her mouth CONSTANTLY. I mean 24/7. We’ve had two choking incidents in 24 hours- one of which ended up with a 999 call & paramedics attending :-( She had SOMEHOW picked a sticker off a toy and put it in her mouth in the 0.2 seconds I took my eye off her to have a sip of my coffee. It was absolutely terrifying.
She will scratch at the carpet and pick up small bits of lint, manages to find and pick up little tiny bits of wrapper, tissue paper, rips apart books and puts the page in her mouth (if I’d let her get that far!) I am absolutely exhausted from hoovering 4/5 times a day, watching her like a HAWK, basically following my older kids around making sure they don’t drop a single crumb or piece of wrapper because SHE WILL FIND IT & attempt to block her air ways with it :-(((((( It doesnt help that she’s near enough walking, standing, a very fast crawler & very independent to the point she wants to play alone- which is fab but I’m a nervous wreck at her ability to find things to choke on.
Not sure what the point of this post is except is anyone else in this boat? When does it get better? Any tips? Solidarity? Sanity??
