7 month old development

Just wanted to ask as of course as a first time mum you are always looking up milestones (wish I wouldn’t!) but my baby is 7 months old and still not making baba-dada-mama noises or responding to his name….. he is VERY noisy and makes lots of aahh noises, always smiling and making lots of eye contact.

Which milestones are you looking at @littleoranges?

The 8 month Ages & Stages dies ask if they make these sounds but there are a couple of things to bear in mind.

Firstly, your baby isn’t meant to achieve everything. The rest is designed so that it is fairly normal for them to score in the grey in one or two areas. This doesn’t mean there is a problem at all.

And secondly, the assessment covers babies up to 8 months and 30 days. If you think how much your baby has changed in the last 6 weeks or so, there is every possibility that they will be making these sounds by the time they reach 9 months
