Any tips on keeping toddler in his bed?

Since putting DS in a single bed, he’s out every 5 minutes and it takes us around 2 hours to get him to sleep, taking him back into his bed. We’ve tried every trick in the book I am sure but nothing seems to work until he gets exhausted and gives up! It’s soooooo frustrating.

Then he wakes up tired in the morning.

Tips welcome please 🙏

Haha this one of those things I look back on with fond memories even though it's a nightmare at the time. With our oldest we just had to do the wait it out method. Although we did try a make shift house out of cardboard box and that did work a bit.

We learnt our lesson the problem was we'd kept him enclosed in the cot for way too long (he was almost 3) so with our youngest as soon as he could walk confidently about 17 months off came the bars and he never noticed or cared. Bed was just where he slept and never somewhere we kept him enclosed. It worked a treat he never came out without good reason.
