When your toddler start having more complex conversation? Mine is 2,5y old (3 in few months) and It's still very basic one.
For example:

Me: What do you want for dinner?
Him: I want toast
Me: How many toast you want?
Him: two
Me: With cheese?
Him: Yes.

Sometimes he just answers yes or no, or chooses from what I offer him.
So question is when your toddler start having more complex conversations about his day like: Mommy today I play football at school and it's was awesome. He still can do only max 4-5word sentences, but he know I guess hundreds, maybe even more words.

We know what impacts speech positively and negatively. So try to increase the number and variety of books you read, and try going for a screen-free week. Go to the local library, spend time there and bring home the max amount of books you can take on both cards .
Take out toys, and play restaurant, school, circus, .doctor, letting him take the lead on these role-plays.

I honestly can’t remember when mine started to talk more, although obe did have speech delay so wasn’t typical.

If you have a look at this article from Speech and language UK there are some resources for encouraging speech at the end Smile
