Sudden stutter in 2.5 year old

My 2.5 year old DD has developed a sudden stutter this week. Prior to this her speech was clear and she spoke with varied vocabulary and could use full sentences.

She still has good vocabulary and clear speech when she isn't stuttering. But sometimes she'll get stuck on the beginning of a sentence and either succeed in saying what she wants or will give up and start again.

I can't think of what might have triggered this. Nothing at home has really changed. I understand that this age group can develop a developmental stutter when going through a developmental milestone but I was under the impression that it only happened in children who were struggling to speak initially. Or this type of regression normal? Any advice hugely appreciated.

I know of a case of the opposite, the person stuttered as a teenager but time it changed for the better. I had speech problems myself at a young age. My mother took me to a speech therapist.
