Hi everyone. I have a little boy who is nearly 4 years old and I'm looking for some advice/ to hear other people's experiences with their little one if they've gone through something similar.
When my little boy is excited (this can be in play, when he's watching tv, when he's talking about his news from his day) he sometimes flips his arms up to the side in a sort of jerky motion and/or wiggles his fingers, he will sometimes jump too. I know these can be signs of autism but could also be typical development. However has he's getting older I'm noticing them more with him (I'm not sure again if it's because I'm looking for it or if it is more frequent)
He is also very tactile in terms of wanting cuddles a lot and isn't the best sleeper - he will wake several
times wanting someone to be next to him in his bed.
He met all his milestones as he developed. He has excellent communication and language skills - he will give eye contact. He has a fantastic memory. He is now very social and seems to be making friends well in nursery now.
Has anyone else's little one exhibited these signs before and had an autism diagnosis? Or been through the process after their little ones has shown signs like this and has not had a diagnosis?
Im not looking for anyone to give a diagnosis here, I'd just appreciate hearing about anyone's experience in this.
