Would you chance to reverse psychology in an attempt to turn an approach being adopted by a mother around?

I have no clue what you mean.

I had trusted that somebody would ask!! -
Slapping, for instance, might you aim to make suggestion that would shock along those lines, if you considered that her revile would likely have her question her hitting/slapping more closely? You could then leave it a day or two before clarifying what had been the exercise, and hopefully she would by way this process be prepared to discuss her slapping, of what might be a traumatised child, and perhaps for the first time. I am questioning as to the possible value of this approach by way a last resort when an orthodox approach to parenting can no longer work. She would of course be thinking very badly of you until such time as she follows the logic, so hopefully just over night.
