Hypermobility and stairs

Just looking for peoples experience with hypermobility and difficulty on the stairs.

DS has had a very atypical motor development. At his most recent physio she felt he has hypermobility in his hips (as I do).

He had terrible reflux for the first 12m and never crawled. Walked at 12m, bum shuffled thereafter and much later (22m) pulled to stand after a couple of sessions of physio. He can run, kick a ball etc and has begun to climb on furniture.

He has started to use the stairs but can find it a struggle. Uses a mixture of climbing up and using the railings under the bannister.

Did anyone else’s DC with hypermobility in hips find stairs tricky?

Thanks so much
