Attachment issues with 16 week old

16 week old girl is an exceptionally good baby. She barely cries or fusses with me (mum) and honestly, looking after her is a breeze due to her temperament.
I am self employed and have clients to keep my business ticking over so I work 3 evenings a week for about 2 hours. I love my job and am loyal to my clientele so this is a much needed break out the house.
Baby girls dad is a very hands on dad and works from home. He has had her on his own for several hours a week and sometimes full days since she was born.
Recently she has been inconsolable with dad on an evening as soon as i leave. Literally purple face screaming for 2 hours non stop. Then when I come home, a few minutes with me and she stops.
We have no idea why she has started this and he has tried everything but nothing works.

Any reason why this behaviour has been triggered?
Any tips for either of us to ease the transition?

Does she have any other time when you’re not around? Does her DF for instance take her out in the day on his own?

I'd also see how it goes at a different time of day if you can – it could be that the separation is too much for her at the end of the day.

That said, DD1 went through a fierce period of separation anxiety starting at about 4 months. If she couldn't see or feel me (or, grudgingly, hear me), she was distraught, and I'm afraid not much helped except time, and learning how to work round it as best as possible.
