What was he at birth? DD1 was only 17' 10" at 1 year but DD2 is much heavier & there was only 2 ounces of a difference at birth.

DD" was about 12' 10" at 15 weeks

HV actually said DD2 would be like Billy Bunter if she kept eating as much when I told her what she had. 5x7oz extra hungry formula bottles a day which I didn't think was excessive.

Cheeky moos!

sheena1 · 30/05/2008 21:42

mmY DS HAS 5 7oz bottles a day just normal aptimal 1 last feed is at 7 and sleeps right throught till 6 I was really angry with her for sayin he was obease no wonder kids these days are growing up with a complex

Ds1 was 12lb 3. Ds2 was 10lb 8. Don't think that helps really, does it?!!

Jbck · 30/05/2008 21:46

DD2's gain has slowed right down tho & now she's started on solids she's taking less formula. I've actually been concerned about such a drastic drop in her milk intake she's 28 weeks now & is just under 16 pounds but she was only 7' 13" at birth.

She was taking at least 6 x 7/8 ozs at 6 weeks that's why we put her on the extra hungry milk.

Depends on parents too we're not giants & DD1 is very petite altho' she eats like a horse. Sometimes they are just tactless.

DD was 14lb 5oz and breastfed till 18mnths (she was long and lean), Ds was a real chubster and was 18lb 13oz (breastfed till he was 2.5y). HV never made any comment about his weight, she was pleased he was happy and healthy.

some HV's are way to extreme imo, best take what they say with a pinch of salt and only go when absolutely necessary! DS was really chubby, and some people couldn't help but make rude comments (like my neighbour who would not believe HV was ok with ds's size, and exclaimed "but he's got cellulite".....(still angry!!!!!!)......he didn't have cellulite, she was/is just a bitch). He is nearly 3 now and is very tall for his age (size 4-5 clothes, size 10.5G shoes)but the only problem is that people think he is much older than his years, and expect way to much of him =0(

My ds is 13 wks and fully bf now weighs 16lb 10oz, he's above the 90th centile.

Hv seems fine with this, we are not 'big' people, but he looks like a buda!
