Hi all, looking for some advice or at least some solidarity!
my little girl was 3 in April and I’m just concerned about her behaviour.
she has always had a bit of a temper and went through a phase of biting at nursery. This was short lived, however a few months ago another girl at nursery bit her and now she’s started again (so far no one in nursery but me and my husband)
her tantrums are just awful, if something doesn’t go her way she just looses it and goes to bite us, if she can’t get to us she’ll bite an object or sometimes herself. It’s like she has a really bad temper, she’ll throw things too.
we've noticed it’s definitely worse when tired, so have tried to have a daily ‘quiet time’ to replace the nap
we discipline her by taking her away and into a safe space to calm down, then often we will use a consequence like ‘ok we’re no longer going to the park today’
I just dont know what else to do? Am I doing something wrong? Is this just a phase? I’d say it’s been bad for approx 2 months now
also wonder if she has ADHD/ASD based on a few other things but also because of what she gets upset over. ie she lost it because my husband hung up the phone to us and she wanted to press the button.
shes starting pre school in sept and I think the shorter day may be great for her (currently at nursery 8-5 3 days a week) but I’m also terrified of how she’s going to behave there and if the change will also disrupt her further.
anything else to consider?
