I am having real difficulties adpating to the way my 7 year old lad needs hadnling. A good manual on what to expect would be nice. I have read the raising boys, but found that it wasn't enough for this specific age. He is changing so much and yet so immature in some respects and mature in others - he is a real bag on emmotions and I am finding it difficult.
His teacher had words yesterday with me - he is yawning and not concentrating at school - all day. But lots of energy for play time. I know he gets 8-10 hrs sleep a night and is always asleep for 9pm at the latest. MAybe the dark shorter day (in NZ) is being an issue - or just growing and very run down/tired or bored - but which is it?

I don't know of any books I am afraid but have you tried a multi vitamin?

I give DS (almost 7) a multivitamin syrup and also fish oils and he is def much better when I do.

what Buda said about the vitamins and fish oils, and also could he be bored at school?
My Yr2 boy has to be kept stimulated or he literally starts yawning in class, I think it's a case of not wanting to go through yet another dreary worksheet printed off the computer, do they use those as teaching aids in NZ? They love them over here in AU
