Hi,
My Lo corrected age is 11 months old and her adjusted age is 13 months. She was born 7 weeks early. My reason for this post is because I am worried that she is not responding to her name. She does turn to noise and when I tell her no. She does simle when she sees and hears her granny coming into the house. When she hears her daddy's voice when he comes home from work she turns and simles. Just worried as she dosent respond at all to her name. I would be grateful for advice please as it is causing me alot of anxiety. Thanking you.🙂

I don’t have experience of this but the cut-off for worry seems to be around 12 months. So your baby’s adjusted age is under this but you may want to speak to a HV to put your mind at rest?

Generally, it seems with babies that “just
one thing” is rarely a problem. It’s if they have a collection of little things that you might start to worry.

my son was really late to babble but did everything else as expected so I was told not to worry. If he also wasn’t pointing:making eye contact/responding to sounds/whatever THEN they might’ve started investigating.

Agree that not doing one thing won’t be classed as an issue. LO’s never develop equally in every aspect.

Has your HV done the 12 month check yet?

Thanks for your comment I appreciate it yes she has had her 12 month checkup and her Hv was happy with her. She also had her paediatric appointment and he was happy with her. He didn't seem bothered that she wasn't responding to her name yet. He said it was to early.

My Son took a little while to respond to his name until we went to stay with my parents during house renovations and my Mum would call his name constantly so he started to respond.

I hadn’t realised until then that I mainly called him cute names like babybaby, little one, pickle etc. So no wonder he hadn’t made the connection between him and one specific name!
