very sleepy 4 week old baby... Normal?

my lovely little monkey has been asleep all day! She wakes up to eat.... That's it. She normally is very alert and does snooze but never has slept like this. She has had a few wees but no poo since 3am last night.
Can I put this down to her just having a sleepy day, or maybe she is 'growing' and needs her sleep today?or is this more concerning? Do I wake her and keep her up for a bit?
Your views much appreciated

I would only be concerned if she slept so much during the day if it affected her night-time sleep. Hope she isn't awake all night tonight!

sounds fine. i read somewhere its fine for a bf baby not to poo for a few days!

is she jaundiced? are you happy she is feeding enough? if so i wouldnt worry about it unless jaundiced

I remember when my son was little he'd have sleepy days and hungry days - balance was never his strong point!
Could be a growth spurt.
Personally, I wouldn't wake her unless she is going too long between feeds, especially if you are breastfeeding. Is she feeding OK?
See how it goes tomorrow, and talk to the HV if worried? Don't worry about sounding like a neurotic mum, it's what they are there for.
Of course, check for rashes, fever in the meantime.

Thanks guys, this is very helpful. She is bottle fed (I never got any milk flow) and has had about 20 oz to drink, so that's pretty normal. I'm sure she'll have another feed in a bit.
Will call the health visitor, just to
check, if she is like this again tomorrow...

could be a growth spurt and she needs to conserve her energy.

My little one took weeks to wake up. He just slept and slept and slept. Some babies are just sleepier than others I think. When she does wake up you'll find yourself wishing she'd have one of those long naps again so you can concentrate.
