Help! Bedtime Chaos - 11 year Olds

Am really struggling with 11 year old twins (boy / girl) at bedtime. It’s getting later and later and harder and harder to get them into bed, they constantly wind each other up, don’t listen, roam around the landing and generally just act up when I try to get them to bed (they’re in separate rooms but next door to each other). They’re also quite loud at times and think nothing of shouting and slamming doors at 10pm - I have difficult neighbours who complain about noise so this adds to my stress. I’m exhausted and barely ever get to bed before midnight. I start asking them to go to bed around 9pm, it’s usually 10pm before they stop faffing and winding each other up, and sometimes 11pm by the time they’re asleep! I’m a single parent and struggling to keep my cool every night as I just want them to go to bed so I can finish chores and get to bed at a reasonable hour myself. Anyone else dealing with this? Any tips, routines, suggestions to help? Thank you!

Can you do you chores earlier @Twins10203? This might allow you to get into bed earlier and hopefully reduce your tiredness.

What time do they wake up?

I am trying to get more done before bedtime but our evenings are pretty rammed most days, by the time I’ve dealt with sports clubs, made dinner, got everyone in the shower, sorted bags, laundry etc…it’s usually time to try and coerce them into bed. I rarely have the time or energy to get all the dishes and tidying up done before bedtime amidst everything else, routine is difficult as every day is different and they live between me and their dads house. I was just wondering how everyone else’s evenings / bedtimes looked and if I’m missing a trick! My son is usually up around 7am, daughter is a late sleeper.
