The other day Dh claimed dd2 pointed to a pink shape in a book and said "pink".
I was luaghing about it in playgroup as she is only 13m but another mother said her dd knew colours around this age. Do they really identify them this young?!

Not normally no. More like after 2, often nearer 3. But I'm sure it's not unheard of for kids to know them earlier.

DS knew loads by 19 months. DD still gets confused by the difference between pink and purple and she is 3.6.

dd1 knew them just before 2 which I thought was early. Just a bit at friends dc knowing them at 1 (but obviously didn't want to say that!)
