Just 7 months and now refusing to go to sleep solo

Aagghh, my text bbook angel dd1 has suddenly decided that she can no longer get to sleep by herself in her cot. As soon as I leave her she screams hysterically, non stop. If is stay and pat her she falls asleep no problem - however back to screaming if she disturbs and sees she is by herself. She has always been a fabulous sleeper - sleeping anywhere when necessary (travel cots, buggy) but now she is certainly not! I've tried pick up put down and that doesn;t work for us at all as the calmness stops the minute i lay her back down. So now trying the supernanny controlled crying - 5 min, 10 min, 20 min etc but my goodness it is so so stressful for everyone. I'm so close to giving up and just styaing to get her to sleep but don't want to creat a rod for our backs (hers included as she needs to be happy, secure and confident enough to sleep alone)

Sorry to ramble on - has anyone else suffered this at this age and got any tips or ideas on what to do from here?

Much appreciated

xx

Hi
Thanks for that - I've been doing soemthing similar - a version of CC (like you I hate it but she has to learn the confidence to sleep solo) Tonight we only had screams for two mins - has got better each night so hopefully we're winning. They're funny little things aren't they!
Thanks for the post

Do you think it could be seperation anxiety starting quite young?
