Dummy 2.5 year old advice needed

My son is 2.5 years old. His nursery have stated it would be good to work towards getting him off a dummy. Nursery want to set an action on his development plan. There are no concerns with his development or communication but I agreed to the action as he doesn’t have a dummy there, he just wants it at home.

I am looking for suggestions to remove the dummy. He sleeps really well at night with a dummy and 3 spares in his bed, he sometimes likes to hold them. I think he will need something else for comfort or we will have terrible nights sleep with a very upset boy.

I have heard of the dummy fairy and nursery have said they can support with that but I think once he gets home, he will soon enough get upset wanting one.

Also he is still wanting bottles of milk quite frequently at home so any advice on that too would be great. We have tried lots of different sippy cups and he screams for a baby bottle.

No advice on the dummy sorry but if he screams for a bottle of milk, do you give in? Would he be distracted by something like a drink and a snack and a book or cuddle?
