Will it get better?

Hi everyone, I am a first time Mum to a baby girl, she is 13 weeks old and over the past month she has become extremely clingy/attached. I know that it is normal for babies to get like this however I don’t know if what I’m experiencing is normal. She only wants me and refuses everyone else. I’m lucky to have help from my Mum and husband who used to be able to take her for a stretch of time so that I could get some sleep however since about a month now she starts crying with both of them and only settles with me. I mix feed breast and bottle so at night my husband or Mum if they were helping used to take her for a bit and could feed her whilst I rested, she now will refuse to drink from the bottle if they try feeding but will drink from it when I feed her straight after they have tried. I’m starting to feel quite overwhelmed as not having anytime for just a small break is exhausting even her naps during the day are contact naps as she constantly just wakes up now when being put down in her crib. I thought I’d come here to see if what I’m experiencing is normal. Is this something that will get better?

It is and yes it can be overwhelming. I think it took my first a good wee while to work out that we were separate people and I could put him down and leave him and then he seemed scared that I would.

Try and use the help not to take your DD but to do things in the house if you can.

Will she settle if your DH or DM take her out for a walk after a feed?
