My ds first did about a 5 weeks ago, perhaps a little longer. I forget already when he started doing things! He's almost 10mo.

Pinkjenny · 23/05/2008 15:36

11mo - she did it all of a sudden. I actually posted on here about 2 days before she did it because I was worried.

Lurkinaround · 23/05/2008 15:39

About 6 months but that's quite early I think. He took first steps at 10 months.

micci25 · 23/05/2008 15:41

dd2 has been doing for about a month now she is 11 months. dd1 was probably about 6 months if not earlier she walking unaided by 1 year.

Pinkjenny · 23/05/2008 15:47

Milk - they all do things at different times, try not to get hung up about it. Easy to say, I know!

milkgoddessmakesthefinestmilk · 23/05/2008 16:42

pink, dd did it for the 1st time last week, i thought she was amazingly early.... seems not

ds1 5mths
dd 11mths
ds2 6 mths

bubblagirl · 23/05/2008 16:44

my ds was about 8 mths in cot 10 mths outside of cot

moocowme · 23/05/2008 20:57

ds is 8mo and does it all the time, started doing it well at 6-7 months but he is obsessed with standing up!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

MannyMoeAndJack · 23/05/2008 21:04

So long as they do it by 12mths, then nothing to be concerned about

tigermeow · 23/05/2008 22:58

DD was 3.5months - we found her standing in her cot merrily holding on! We lowered the cot that day. Thankfully we have a few pics of her standing in her cot looking pleased with herself!

tigermeow · 23/05/2008 23:16

Arggg, typos. She pulled up at 4.5months not 3.5...it has been a long day!
She was sitting unaided for 5mins at a time at 3.5ms though. She didn't roll over until 7.5ms though...all swings and roundabouts!

Mannymoeandjack-why do they have to be doing it by 12 months?
Ds2 is 13 months, not pulling himself up or even crawling yet and I'm honestly not worried about it.
They do evertything when they're good and ready,IMHO.

MannyMoeAndJack · 26/05/2008 14:08

12mths is just the guideline age for standing, in the sameway that walking should be achieved by 18mths. You are right that babies do things when they are good and ready and many babies will reach milestones a couple of months or so beyond a given guideline. However, delays in reaching milestones can sometimes indicate that there are issues that should be investigated.

HeadFairy · 26/05/2008 14:11

ds started a couple of weeks ago, he's 8 months. Now he just won't sit down!
