Toddler toe walking is it shoe related??

My toddler is 20 months old and outgrew his newbalance trainers so I got him some adidas campus. Recently he's started toe walking not all the time but a good few times a day only for a couple seconds each time. I've only recently started realising that his shoes are too big at the back could this be the reason he toe walks ?? & if I went to get him measured again & get some different trainers with more support will it help / stop the toe walking ?? I feel awful that it's my fault he's now doing this. I'm a first time mum & learning as I go but doesn't excuse the fact. Any advice / recommendations will help. Thank you

I wouldn't worry too much. Kids do all sorts of weird things. I would take him to Clarks or similar and get his feet properly measured and get some good supportive shoes though. Barefoot shoes are very good for a toddlers developing feet. Fashion trainers are often not the best choice for little feet.

I also wouldn't worry about a few seconds of toe walking here and there (most toddlers experiment with it at some point), but I would also get him some shoes that are a better fit. I wouldn't say they need to be more supportive, necessarily – just a good fit, with a nice flexible sole.
