Is this normal - DS has taken to not being able to decide WHAT it is he ants to do. For example, he'll get home from nursery and say 'slippers' as we normally put them on and so I start to put them on and he goes 'noooooooooooooo' so we dont then he goes mad becaseu he wants his slippers and so it continues. I think its becasue he watns to put them on himself but cant do it yet....the same behaviour repeats with trousers and vests in particular - any suggestions? Hes getting so upset and its horrible....

Sounds just like my 2.10 DS. Have assumed it's normal - though irritating and every so often v amusing !

Just repeat the mantra after me: It's only a phase....It's only a phase....It's only a phase........

Normal. " year olds are not really able to choose what they want to do.

Sorry I meant 2 tear olds.

I think this is completely normal and i think it is about control - he has just begun to realise that he can influence the world, and he wants to see you do what he says!

Thanks guys - I have been trying to stay calm and if he gets his knickers in a real twist I say 'Mummy will go and sit down until you have decided' and move away - he almost always makes a v fast decision without any more fuss!
