My daughters 6 weeks old she’s been a brilliant feeder and a really settled baby up until about 4 days ago where she suddenly was in constant pain after every feed, extremely unsettled, wouldn’t sleep at all and screaming in pain. I took her to the doctors who advised I change her milk which I did from aptamil 1 to cow and gate comfort, she is also constipated. After this she has continued to be in agony and last night she was in so much pain so I took her to the out of hours who diagnosed silent reflux and prescribed gaviscon and movicol for consipation. I am at wits end all of the above bad been changed and she is still in agony, screatching in pain, can’t sleep for pain. I do not know what else I can do

Oh, it's so hard when they are tiny and in pain!

How constipated is she? Have you done bicycle legs, tummy massage (check which way to do the circles, I never remember), warm bath, etc. to help her go? (The movicol should help as well, of course.)

Is she any better upright or semi-reclined compared with lying down? Reflux is classically more painful lying down (although once it gets really bad, it can be hard to tell). Do you feel like baby has any of the other symptoms of silent reflux?

Does baby have any symptoms of CMPA? Any skin issues, constant runny nose/congestion?

My little one was like this when I drank milk and breastfed so we changed him to kendamil goat and he was a different baby! We also asked the doctor for lansoprazole which worked brilliantly!
