Index finger pointing -13 months

Hi mums, I already posted here, but still looking for reassurance if anyone has experienced late index finger pointing and joint attention and the baby was developing on the typical side.
Im FTM and very stressed that our 13 months boy doesn’t not point with index finger. He would reach to things with whole hand when he wants something, but its not a joint attention, as he would not look back at us to check if we are looking.
He would clap when he feels like(its pretty random) but would do it when I ask; he would mimic some sounds( not much) and he would wave bye bye( on his terms).
He does not have any words yet.
Im still not sure if he follows my point when I point in distance, but he would turn back when I say “look here”.
Im hoping for some reassurance, as where we live Pediatritians are not checking any development milestones and when I asked for evaluation they said he should be pointing at 12 and have 1 word at least, but not to worry as it will come 😳
Please, share your positive stories as my anxiety is not working in my favour 🙏

I think pointing with the index finger is generally expected by 15 months, although I could be wrong.

If he doesn’t have any words yet, how does he do on this simple progress checker?

Thanks for your comment- i did the questionnaire and it does see that lots of questions I have answered “not sure”. For example he would not play peekaboo and would not show it, but he enjoys hide and seek.
It says that he might need further support with language and communication, as well as social.
So so worried.
I noticed that he does use his index finger much- for example he presses buttons with the thumb. His pincer grasp is not refined and often he still uses raking stile to pick up small things.

Ok so if it says he needs support with language, communication and social interaction and understanding i would fill in the 12 month Social & Emotional Ages & Stages and see how he scores on that one Flowers

So he scores approx 70 - some questions are still unclear. He does not see to like peekaboo but he does play hide and seek. How do I answer this question. He also failed on sharing toys. I understand its a concern. Which doctor do I see?

thank you 🙏

If he’s scoring 70 then your Paediatrician needs to take this seriously and try and find out why he’s scoring like this. It could be a few things but your Paediatrician is the best one to show the results to and ask for guidance Flowers
