18 month whirl wind

I’m sure I’ll get many responses to tell me this is normal and to get a grip but I have no where to turn so thought I’d try this.

My 18 month old is mentally and physicially so testing And I’m starting to wonder if this is normal.

from the minute he wakes up it’s constant screaming and squeezing (mainly happy) at the top of his lungs, running everywhere, throwing toys, nipping, biting, slapping, pulling hair, climbing on furniture, hanging off things, pulling plugs out. Supermarket shops he will be bouncing around in the trolly demanding bananas, shouting at people for attention which he often gets.

im exhausted and feel a bad parent but I literally count down to nap and bed times, put the house back and grab a coffee and to eat as I can’t even eat a slice of toast without having it demanded for me.

the child minder has also had words about his hair pulling and grabbing which is aparently upsetting the other children and we need to address it (still trying to work that bit out as it’s not like I can sit him down and tell him to behave).

when you say no and divert him away from doing something, he laughs and goes back to do it again. Therapeutic parenting just doesn’t seem to work.

is this normal?

It sounds quite intense. How did he do on his 12 month check?

He was a little small but developmentally on track

Ok so it’s a bit hard to tell from what you’ve said but if the CM is raising concerns, has she made any suggestions?

I would start off with this simple progress checker.
