If you live in the Sheffield area, we invite parents of 3-year-olds to participate in the iKids study.
Receive a £50 high-street voucher to compensate you for your time.
What’s the study about?
We are exploring children’s use of smartphones and tablets and gathering information to learn about their cognitive development and health outcomes.
Who can take part?
3-year old children can take part whether or not they use devices – we’re interested in all experiences!
Where?
Sheffield Hallam University, Collegiate Campus. The room number will be e-mailed to you once you register.
How long will the session be?
The session will last around 75 - 90 minutes.
What will your child do?
Children will take part in fun activities that measure cognitive skills, motor skills and height and weight. They’ll be offered a superhero mask and a “magic belt” (activity monitor) to wear for one week.

What will you do?
You’ll complete two short questionnaires about your family, your device use, and your child’s social behaviour. If your child uses a phone or tablet, we’ll help you install an app that monitors how long apps are used for.
Thank you!
While taking part, your child will be rewarded with certificates and stamps. You’ll receive 2 x £50 vouchers (£50 at your first visit, £50 next year at your second visit).
